"The Beast in the Cave" is a short story by American horror fiction writer H. P. Lovecraft written in 1905, when Lovecraft was fourteen. It was first published in the June 1918 issue of the amateur press journal the Vagrant.
Brilliant , i find this creepy , love that fur effect on his skin, that face is meant to disturb and it does. Really really like the lone lines showing the contour of the cave mouth. This really is a wold class drawing
Hehe,I know! But most of the story takes place in pitch black darkness.Only thing interesting I could have drawn was a beast laying on the ground.I agree though. Most anybody that sees this knows the story anyways .
I'm sure a 14 year old HPL would never have imagined such a nice illustration of his story to be made a century into the future! I love the high contrast, the feral look in it's eye and the emergence out of the pick black. Nice one!
